Why Automation Alone Isn't Enough for Enterprise QA

Automation testing has become the default answer to 'how do we test faster,' and for good reason. But treating automation coverage as a proxy for quality is a mistake we see repeatedly with enterprise teams.

Automated suites are excellent at catching regressions in well-understood flows. They are far weaker at catching usability friction, visual inconsistency, and the kind of exploratory edge cases a human tester finds by simply using the product differently than the spec describes.

The teams that ship the most reliable software combine both: a strong automated regression backbone for speed, paired with structured manual and exploratory testing for the scenarios automation can't anticipate.
